A Drone Pilot's Dilemma Explored in Acclaimed Solo Show "Grounded"

The boundaries between reality and the screen begin to blur for a woman torn between her duties as a new mother and drone pilot in the acclaimed one-woman play "Grounded", which was named a Top 10 Play of 2013 by "The Guardian" and the "London Evening Standard". When a hotshot female F-16 pilot becomes unexpectedly pregnant, she's reassigned to flying remote-controlled drones over Afghanistan. By day, she hunts terrorists remotely from an air-conditioned trailer near Las Vegas. At night, she comes face-to-face with her duties as a wife and mother. Written by George Brant ("Elephant's Graveyard", "The Royal Historian of Oz"), "Grounded" transforms the work-life balance debate into a matter of life and death in the digital age. Now this "brilliant tour de force" ("The Baltimore Sun") comes to the Olney Theatre Center in a co-production with Everyman Theatre.
