About Jammin Java Local Scene: Pleasure Train + Max Dvorak + Ryan Langlois + Skydiver + Derek Evry

The groove/rock sextet, Pleasure Train, is a Northern Virginia based band that uniquely blends elements of soul, jam, and house to create a danceable live atmosphere turning each show they play into a party.

Max Dvorak is a singer/songwriter currently living in Boston, MA. Originally from the Midwest, Max's music contains elements of folk, acoustic, pop giving it a character not commonly found in todays singer/songwriter scene. Only a recent Midwest transplant to the bustling east-coast, Max has begun to find his niche in many coastal cities. Consistently performing in cities such as Philadelphia, New York City, Asbury Park, and Baltimore, Max has been making fans everywhere he goes. Even while breaking into the east coast scene, Max doesn't forget his Midwestern roots. His original stomping grounds of Chicago, Des Moines, Minneapolis, and Madison are all still common stops on any tour.

Some of his more notable accomplishments have included sharing the stage with acts such as Carter Hulsey, Tyler Hilton, Into It Over It, Koji, The Dangerous Summer, The Scene Aesthetic, and other great acts. A major east coast supporting tour in support of Kiernan McMullan. Multiple Midwest TV appearances including Channel 3000's Urban Theater Show, Channel 27's Wake Up Wisconsin Morning Show, and KCWI Des Moines Great Day! Show. Also, multiple headlining tours in 2014.

2015 will be an interesting year for Max Dvorak. This summer he'll be unveiling the full band version of his songs on the road, and touring rigorously in support of his sophomore release Little Things.

Ryan Langlois left California to experience life on the opposite coast and shortly thereafter released his debut solo EP entitled Wednesday Night. Currently writing at a pace of 2-3 songs per week, Ryan continues to improve his craft and demonstrate his work ethic. His most recent project, Bandit, incorporates the tongue-in-cheek humor of Warren Zevon while paying homage to other influences such as Rooney and The Rolling Stones. Though plans for a full solo-album are already underway, he continues to write with other artists to fortify his songwriting ability in all genres.

Skydiver originated in Chantilly, VA during the summer of 2013, when singer/songwriter Justin Price decided to team up with bassist/schoolmate Spencer Duggan to take his acoustic originals and realize them into fuller, dynamic songs. Combining an educated music background with a fascination in discovering new music, they have managed to bring a sound that is both technical and inspired to the DC music scene.

Derek Evry is an alt/pop rock songwriter from Arlington, Virginia. Derek has been writing and performing his original music since 1999. Derek recently released an EP "Down To The Wire" on June 21, 2014, which is the follow up to his 2012 release, "Here's To Better Misery." (Both available on iTunes)
