"Amadeus": Music, Power & Jealousy in a Screening of the Tony-Winning Play

Lucian Msamati ("Luther", "Game of Thrones") plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer's iconic play "Amadeus", winner of multiple Olivier and Tony Awards. The scene is set in 18th-century Vienna, where rowdy young prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is determined to make a splash. Awestruck by the upstart's genius, court composer Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy, he begins a war with Mozart, with music and, ultimately, with God. Watch the intensity come to a head when "Amadeus" is performed by the National Theatre in London, broadcast in HD at D.C.'s Sidney Harman Hall, with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia.
