Ron Kearns Quintet: Elegant Jazz From Celebrated Veterans

From the acoustic jazz tradition famously chronicled in the old Blue Note recordings of bebop and hard bop comes the Ron Kearns Quintet. A veteran recording artist, producer and educator, Kearns is the ensemble's hard-charging heart, playing an alto sax that tells a story with every note. Joining Kearns are Paul Wingo (guitar), Kent Miller (bass), Mark Prince (drums) and Michael Thomas (trumpet/ flugelhorn). Together, this D.C.-based group has delighted audiences at the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley and London's 100 Club, to name but a few. Now they bring their endlessly elegant, lyrical and often playful melodies live to the Montpelier Arts Center.
