"The Comedy of Errors": Authentic Conditions Give Shakespeare Comedy New Twist

Working in seedy theaters near brothels and bear-baiting pits, the first Shakespearean actors had no directors to guide them, few days to rehearse and a trunk of one-size-fits-none "costumes" to wear. Now, Baltimore Shakespeare Factory recreates some of those high-pressure/high-reward conditions (minus the bears, anyway) in its "ensemble experiment" production of "The Comedy of Errors". Directing and costuming themselves, 10 actors will stage Shakespeare's first comedy after just five rehearsals. Follow two sets of twins separated at birth as they circulate in the same city for one wild day, leaving a wake of confusion and craziness. Don't miss this absurdly amusing end to the Factory's acclaimed 2014 season.
