About "The God of This World"

"The God of This World": Generational Comedy Connects Aliens, Lawyers & Bloggers

A blend of "The Importance of Being Earnest", "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" and "3rd Rock from the Sun", the new stage comedy "The God of this World" debuts as a part of the METLab 'Plays in Progress' series. Playwright Don Thompson ("Democracy: A Work in Progress") explores the hilarious dynamics between a stressed-out, divorced lawyer and his unemployed blogger daughter whose obsession with aliens has reached strangely intimate levels. Add in the daughter's poly-amorous friend, a corrupt financier, a financial physicist, and a skittish and pregnant dog and the result is both heady and hilarious. Even so, given such insanity, can love really triumph in the end? Find out during this world premiere at Maryland Ensemble Theatre.
