About "The Meeting"

"The Meeting" Imagines a One-On-One With Martin and Malcolm

Jeff Stetson's "The Meeting" conjures up a fictional private conversation between two iconic African-American leaders -- Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. In this "what if" scenario, the twin pillars convene in a Harlem hotel during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. There they discuss their visions for nationwide change, as well as their radically different methods. In honor of Black History Month, production company The Ashleigh Group will recreate this 1987 one-act drama at Gambrills' Blue Dolphin Banquet Hall, featuring the talents of Tony Cosby and Rodney Choice. After journeying to the past that could have been, you'll be ushered back to the present by the sounds of DC all-male a cappella group Reverb, who'll perform a post-production set.
