About "The Music Man"

"The Music Man": Family Favorite Marches Into Town

The Tony-winning musical comedy "The Music Man" is a feel-good classic that follows the adventures of fast-talking "Professor" Harold Hill, who plans to con the good people of an Iowa town into buying instruments for a boys' band he has no intention of organizing, then marching off with their hard-earned cash. But there's trouble right there in River City when he becomes fond of the townspeople and falls for the lovely Marian the Librarian, even as she begins to see through his scheme. Produced by Encore Stage & Studio at the Kenmore Auditorium in Arlington, this always-entertaining show sparkles with memorable tunes like "Seventy-Six Trombones," "Ya Got Trouble," "Till There Was You," "Goodnight, My Someone" and many more. For this production, adult actors are joined onstage by youth performers ages 10 to 18.
