About "Vietgone"

"Vietgone"

In a Vietnamese refugee camp in Arkansas circa 1975, two bereaved Saigon natives find love in a strange new land. So goes "Vietgone", a bold new romantic comedy by "geek theater" impresario Qui Nguyen, an artist famous in New York for productions packed full of martial arts, sword fights and puppetry. Based on the lives of his own parents, "Vietgone" is a slightly more subtle affair, but still reflect Nguyen's irreverent humor and hip-hop-influenced aesthetic as it criss-crosses between the traumatic evacuation of Saigon and a turbulent yet passionate tale of love in the rural United States.
