Marta is a dynamic and engaging belly dance artist and sought-after instructor in the Washington, D.C. area. Recognized for her unique style and technique, she focuses in oriental style/Egyptian. tribal, and fusion belly dance. She performs regularly at area restaurants and shows, and is available to dance at private parties, theater events and other celebrations.
Marta approaches teaching from a holistic perspective, focusing on the development of strong technique, conditioning, musical interpretation, and deep explorations of historical and cultural contexts of the dance. As a doula/labor assistant, she also brings her strong knowledge of women's health into her teaching.
She is currently a faculty member at three award-winning institutions, Joy of Motion Dance Center, the Dance Institute of Washington, and the Sitar Center for the Arts. She has also taught at Sahara Dance, DCJCC, and at the MamaSita Cultural Center, home of the Belly Dancers of Color Association (BOCA).
