About Adriano Viterbini and Reed Turchi, VINYL LOUNGE

SCRAPYARD is an international collaboration between Adriano Viterbini (Rome) and Reed Turchi (Memphis). They will be touring in the US for the first time in October 2015, coinciding with the US release of their collaborative album (Scrapyard), as well as Viterbini's new solo album, Film(o)Sound. They spent early 2015 touring extensively in Europe, when the album was released there.

Viterbini is endorsed by Gibson Guitars, Supro Amps, and D'addario Strings, and is widely heralded as one of Europe's finest guitarists, also performing with his rock band BSBE, and North African Nonesuch recording artist Bombino. Turchi has received wide acclaim for his previous blues-rock trio (TURCHI), and is currently finishing his debut solo album, featuring Art Edmaiston (Gregg Allman Band), Anthony Farrell and Andrew Trube (JJ Grey and Mofro/Greyhounds), and legendary Memphis musician Paul Taylor (Amy Lavere, Eric Gales, etc).

Influenced by the nomadic music of the Saharan desert (Tinariwen, Bombino, Terakaft), North Mississippi Blues (RL Burnside, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Junior Kimbrough), and specifically slide-guitar based innovators of international roots collaboration (Ry Cooder, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt), the SCRAPYARD performances are intense, intimate, and largely improvisational, utilizing their strengths not just as guitarists and singers, but as a dynamic duo listening, reacting, and pushing each other.
