About Moogatu, The Jones
In late 2010, Moogatu planted the first seeds for its unique blend of funky, wompy prog rock just outside of the nation's capital in bucolic northern Virginia. Soaring dual lead guitars and a pulsing rhythm section bring the quintet's inviting songcraft and creative improvisations to an audience that grows at every club and festival. Moogatu is carving its niche with high energy sets that keep people grooving long into the night. Moogatu is: Brian Raubacher (guitar, vocals) Chris Lee (guitar), Steve Jacyna (drums), Brian Zupruk (bass), Brian Dodds (mad science)
Moogatu has shared bills with: moe., EOTO, Ron Holloway, Dopapod, Keller Williams, Tea Leaf Green, Steve Kimock, The Werks, Kung Fu, Conspirator, The Pimps of Joytime, Zoogma, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Perpetual Groove, DrFameus, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Melvin Seals, The Mantras, Papadosio, Boombox, Jimkata, Tiny Boxes, Former Champions, Silo Effect, The Shack Band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Freedom Enterprise and Galaxy Dynamite.
Singer/guitarist Mike Greenberg, bassist/singer Rich Russman, and drummer/singer George Belton collided in 2005 to form The Jones. The power trio continues to attract audiences of devoted fans throughout DC, NY, and Philly who cannot get enough of the band's unique hybrid sound of Blues and Rock and Roll, music not heard since the late sixties/early seventies.
